My body and mind really seemto be having a hard time adjusting after working my short stint on mids. All last week, I worked the 10pm - 6am shift with a special unit trying to catch some graffiti taggers in the act, or at least to let them see us out to help prevent any extra damage. Well, it was semi-successful in that we didn't catch anyone, but there weren't any new graffiti reports that week either. The previous week, we had been hit 22 times.
Well, now I am back on my normal schedule for the next week or so (until I find out my permanent shift!) and the downside to the week has been that I just can't sleep at night. No matter when I goto bed, I wakeup sometime between 1 and 3 am. And Im just up. And hungry. And no matter what I do, I can't seem to go back to sleep.
I don't think it's a schedule thing, because I'm not taking any naps in between. Say I get up at 3. I'll keep myself entertained until Wendy gets up, spend some time with her before she jets off to work, watch some tv and play with the dog until I goto work, come home and eat dinner and spend time with wendy. And goto bed around 10-11. Wakeup at 3. Repeat.
And it seems that's all the sleep my body thinks it needs. Which is weird since it, just a week before, required 8 hours or I would be nonfunctiomal. Not that I can complain too much, I guess, since I'm doing alright without it. Except that 3-6am are the longest most boring hours in the world by yourself. Even the stupid dog won't get up. And don't even get me started on what happened the morning I tried to "accidently" wake wendy up...
