To say it's been a while since I last posted would be to state the obvious. Well, there you have it. Stated the obvious. We lost the power supply to our computer, and for whatever reason, it took us that long to find it. And I just couldnt bring myself to type a post on my phone. So. We have power again. And more posts to come.

Im back on midnight shift again. Undeniably my favorite time to work, minus the fact that it leaves me zombied anytime I try to do anything normal. Hopefully I will get a schedule set soon to maximize outside life.

When I was younger, anytime I wanted to go out late at night, I always got the "be careful, all the drunks are out" lecture. Well, needless to say, I rarely believed it was a problem. Please.

Well, NOW, I believe it. Not only that, but I really cant even imagine the sheer number of people drunk driving on any given night. Last night, for instance, I know of 3 drunks that were pulled over in an hour and a half period. I cant imagine how many more were out that were missed.

Last week, I was sitting on one of my favorite streets watching any traffic that came through. After a few minutes, I saw a car coming towards me..... really fast. I clocked the car on my radar at 76mph on a... 30mph neighborhood st. Well, I had an anrenaline dump. I flipped on my blue lights (somehow I managed to forget to turn on my headlights, I found that out later) and attempted to play catchup. It didn't take long, because the street deadends into a cross street. Suffice to say, he wasnt able to make the turn, and crashed out into a driveway, busting up two other cars. Somehow, he wasnt hurt a bit. He had also been drinking.

Best part of it, it turns out the driver was a 16 year old kid. He has been 16 for 3 months. I arrested him on his second (he blew a .137) DWI since he had turned 16. It really made my head explode a little bit.
